Does the saying, “What’s in YOUR thinking?” bother you as much as it does me? My immediate response is something along the lines of knocking the smug look off the person’s face that’s inquiring.
I sincerely hope you don’t know what I’m talking about because no one has ever said that to you. Good, as far as I’m concerned! But over 30 years ago when I started studying metaphysics, New Thought, and the teachings of Dr. Ernest Holmes, it wasn’t uncommon to hear.
Our thoughts create. Many people, often celebrities, are writing books about this, having workshops, and making movies like this is “news.” It isn’t.
New Thought isn’t new. It’s a new look at ancient, timeless principles that are not esoteric and don’t require years of study to see results. But understanding our thoughts create some of the crap in our lives is a rough pill to swallow. What we don’t need is someone else telling us what we already know.
If you are experiencing difficulties in your life, please know that you are not to blame. Taking responsibility for our thoughts and actions doesn’t require we beat up on ourselves when life goes amiss. The more effective approach is to decide what we want and move toward that eventuality.
Self-flagellation hasn’t been practiced widely for some time – I don’t recommend it. Love yourself and know that you are loved.
Spiritual Mind Treatment for the Week of June 1, 2020
You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you.
There is one power in the universe. That power is divine love. It created me out of its desire to express life. I am divine love.
I speak this word knowing my unity with all life. I accept that past, present, and future are human constraints and ideas. In divine love and universal truth there is only the now, this moment, never again to be repeated exactly as it currently is.
I guard my thinking just as I guard my heart. I express my thoughts through words to convey my acceptance of limitless joy, abundant prosperity, perfect health, wonderful relationships, and the full self-expression of my life force. I learn from the past, plan for the future, but live mindfully in this moment.
I give thanks that universal power demands no past actions have to predicate my future. My thoughts today are creating my future, and it is amazing! I release this word into action. And So It Is!
